Cab aggregator companies like Ola and Uber are fleecing the daily passengers in the name of surge pricing. Though there is no denying the fact that life of a commuter has become easier with the advent of such companies in the market, it is also a fact that the demand for these cabs far exceeds the supply of cabs by the companies, thanks to the ever increasing population of India. However the rationale of surge pricing is in no way justifiable. Rather than declining the bookings in case of non-availability of cabs, these companies have resorted to surge pricing as and when deemed fit by them. Even during normal days, one can see surge pricing while booking the cabs without any explanation being offered to the regular commuters. Further with the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways allowing the surge prices upto three times in a day, the cab companies have taken undue advantage of the same and are charging the surge prices upon their whims and fancies. It's high Indian Government look into the unfair practice being resorted to by these cab companies.
