Why this petition matters

Started by Pinaki Dasgupta

On the morning of 09th of December 2019, 43 people lost their lives in the second most horrific industrial disaster in Delhi. Recent factory fires have consumed more than 1000 lives in the country.

Accidents in factories continue to take innocent livelihoods. I was shocked, saddened and appalled by the incident in which 43 lives were lost, some of them were the only bread earners for their families.

How long will the State Governments and the Central Government overlook Safety aspects in Factories and hazardous installations

Through this petition, let us raise our voice in demanding stronger Factory rules for ensuring a safer workplace and adequate mechanisms for zero accidents. The demand is for making safety audits and safety checks mandatory for each and every factory (big and small) every year and hold the management responsible under the criminal act for any negligence

The Ministry of Labour and all the Trade Unions must act now!
