In the draft Rule published by Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt of India Dated 19th Nov 2020, the authorities had obsoleted all the Safety Institutes approved by State Governments in Rule 26, which is a strongly objectionable Rule.

The statement of Rule 26 : “For oil mines, a degree in engineering or in industrial safety of an educational institution recognized by the Central Government or post-graduate diploma in industrial safety from Central Labour Institute or Regional Labour Institutes and having experience in the management or supervision of operations in oil mines for a period of not less than five years.”

This means only Safety courses run by Central Government approved institutes or RLI & CLIs are approved, where as there are many institutes in India, which are running under state boards or councils under State Government. If this Rule approves for final publication, then Lakhs of employees & students who are passed out from those state govt approved institutes will be jobless & harassed.

Hence, we request Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt of India to make necessary changes in the draft prior to publish, so that such harassing situation may not arise.
