Mindful of the enormity of regulating, conducting and administering education policies as a function vested in the MHRD and Education Boards, it is of utmost importance that policy decisions regarding mode of examination, evaluation, results etc. are taken well in time and the decisions so taken are made known to the stake holders at the earliest to avoid chaos and uncertainty in the process. Yes Im referring to the present chaos created on account of last minute abrupt changes declared by the CBSE and other state boards regarding scrapping of moderation in results. Im not on the point of the merits or otherwise of the policy either way. The grievance is that whatever policy the authorities wish to make should be well planned, declared and executed well within time. It is not only this year that we are witnessing the disruption in declaration of results of class XII, what should otherwise happen smoothly and as per the declared schedule, but it has become a recurring trend every year. It is distressing that every year something or the other crops up abruptly and the students find themselves at the short end of the stick. The ramifications of the current chaos are inclusive of but not limited to -the delay in results cause delay in admission process, medical and engineering entrance exam results will be out but no admission process will commence without 12 th std results, the papers must have been marked atleast two months before as per the blue print prepared at that time and to rework the entire system will cause indeterminate delay leading to uncertainty and errors in marking structure. It is hence urged that kindly empathise with the students and their parents as 12th std is a crucial thresh hold to the future of a student and messing with it is nothing short of irresponsible criminal negligence on the part of the authorities. Hence please ascertain your policies prior to the commencement of the academic year and we hope that the policies will be made after due deliberations and consideration and not knee jerk reactions, to avoid playing with the future of India.
