SUBASRANJAN ACHARYA started this petition to MHRD India (Parliament of India)

India is a diverse nation with almost 30 different languages spoken across the country. The language spoken in India changes every few kilometres, just like the taste of the water. Most of the states has made local language mandatory in school. People like me, having transferable job, move state to state on every 2 to 3 years. Every time we change the place, our kids forced to learn a new language in a new school which is a painful task for small kids.
While the Constitution’s Article 343 says “the official language of the Union shall be Hindi in Devanagari script,” it also empowers the use of English indefinitely. Furthermore, the provision coexists with the Eighth Schedule, which, as per Articles 344(1) and 351, permits the use of 22 languages as official languages.

We respect and proud of our mother tongue. To learn any language should be choice of an individual and not by enforcement.
