My name is Jamie Lynn and this year my family was hugely impacted by the loss of a very loved family member caused by suicide. The affect this has had on me and what I've seen it do to my family is something I don't want anyone else to ever feel. But most importantly, people are not meant to feel such a way that they forget the value of their own life and the people who love them, and take their own life. New Zealand is at it's most vulnerable point ever in Mental Health as statistics show that our country has the highest rate of teen suicide in the developed world. Did you know 1 in 6 adults are diagnosed with just a common Mental Health disorder? And we should feel ashamed of this.
I want to change this issue we are experiencing in our country by influencing the Minister of Health and the Government to commit to changing the issue by raising the funds for Mental Health in NZ. This year alone, Mental Health services have been underfunded $50 million as the gap between the demand and the funding is increasing everyday. Sign this petition and join me to make an impacting difference in our country that has the hopes of saving kiwi's lives.
