Dear Mom you are amazing ❤️

Dear Mom, you are doing good ❤️

Every day we are thankful to our mothers and mothers around us, for the love they give and the struggles they go through. But do we acknowledge their pain?

In the past week itself, I have read about so many moms', their journeys of being pregnant, and their postpartum struggles.

The chemical changes involve a rapid drop in hormones after the delivery of a child. This leads to new mothers facing depression and other mental health issues.

That triggered this thought in me, why should a new mom not have therapeutic counseling after her delivery? Why should this not be mandated? Why is only an obstetrics/gynecology consultant important? Why not help in the form of a counselor who won't judge her? Why is it that her physical well-being matters, to feed the child but no one cares about her mental well-being?

Can we make a difference? I might not be able to do it alone, but if we reach out to the medical fraternity and policymakers and mandate postpartum counseling care for her mental health?

Please sign my petition  asking the Women and Child Development Ministry, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as well as Private hospitals to-

- Ensure that expecting mothers are made aware of the changes that might happen in their mental and emotional health post-delivery

- Ensure that every hospital has an in-house counselor who helps new mothers deal with post-partum depression and provide counseling whenever required.

Will you help me do this!! This petition is my way of saying Happy Women’s day.
