Think of a powercut for 20 minutes during this summer, without Air-condition, Cooler or fan. How difficult, isn't it?

Sadly, there are a workforce which face this for 6-18 hours duty daily. Nurses, our front line worriers against Covid Pandemic.

Yes, it's the truth. A nurse in India is working for around 6-18 hours during this boiling summer, wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) saving lives from the deadly Corona virus. PPE's are generally made of Rubber, PVC, Leather or Cotton canvas which protect health workers from getting infected. Once worn, PPE can only be removed after the duty. During this 6-18 hours duty a nurse is workinh without Food, Water and not even washroom. Because of the chance of infection through Air, they are working without Air-conditioning.

Sadly, there is no rules and regulations on duration for which a nurse should work wearing a PPE. Many hospitals are taking  advantage of this by making a nurse working for 6-18 hours in single PPE. This really inhumane and dangerous for the health of nurse or health workers.

  • There were instances in which staff nurses fainted during these continues duty without water and food.
  • Most of the nurses are females, think of how difficult it would be during menstrual period
  • Many has already started developing urinary inflections because of not using washroom for long 18 hours

This my humble request to Mr: Harsh Vardhan, honorable Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to make rule for only 4 hours duty for nurses and health workers who are assigned with Covid-19 duty.

Please help me in submitting this petition to Mr: Harsh Vardhan.
