Please sign this petition to legalise the services of practising acupuncturists.

As you are aware , as on date there is no policy or law by the govt of India on the practice of acupuncture in India . And the present petition is to regularise the services of the existing acupuncturists by bringing them under the control of ministry of health by constituting a suitable board and conducting examinations .

It has been declared neither a therapy nor a medical system in India.

People gain knowledge in Acupuncture by studying in a gurukul fashion or through some private institutes or universities . Most of the lakhs of acupuncturists practising in India have no background in allopathic system as the philosophy of treatment is unique in Acupuncture and has nothing to do with the treatment principles and methods of allopathy . 

Acupuncturists rely on energy manipulation in meridians through stimulation by needles to cure diseases which is unknown in allopathy. Hence, making acupuncturists study allopathic concepts and system is of no use in Acupuncture practice.

The Traditional Chinese Medical system has been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and I suggest the govt of India to take the same syllabus as base so as to maintain uniformity along international lines . 

I request the govt to approve Acupuncture as an individual medical therapy and constitute a board of acupuncturists to decide  the syllabus and conduct exams at half yearly intervals and approve the successful candidates as REGISTERED ACUPUNCTURE PRACTITIONER .

I urge the govt to take action swiftly and put a rest to the present confusions regarding the practice of acupuncture.
