Nitin Kumar started this petition to Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and

Most of the non edible fruit peels, vegetable waste and leaves are either burnt or disposed off along with plastic and other utter waste material. While these precious resources are thrown off, we see the trees and saplings are falling due to its weak roots. Resulting in water scarcity and water stress in our soil and further leading to reduction in ground water, since weak roots are unable to hold on with more water.

21 cities like New Delhi, Ghaziabad, Chennai, Gurgaon, Patiala, Mohali, Amritsar, Yamuna Nagar, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ludhiana, Gandhinagar, Indore, Bikaner, Ajmer, Ratlam, Jalandhar, Agra, Hyderabad, Vellore and Bangalore are expected to run out of groundwater in next 4 to 5 years. It could be your city, town or village the next.

Preventive and proactive measures certainly may help us.

All the fruit peels, fruit seeds, uncooked vegetables (mainly it's stems), dry and fresh leaves, twigs (fallen and available below the trees) and any other form of fresh/raw/uncooked/unused/untreated/organic matter grown from the trees must NOT be thrown in the garbage, or burnt, or disposed off or destroyed.

Necessary directions, instructions, messages, notices and requests are requested to be issued to all the municipal corporations, residential, commercial and industrial society's/RWA's, forests, parks and any other Bhartiya institutions which are responsible for the growth of trees, keeping the environment clean and green, and are entrusted and are paid to ensure clean and pure water and air for all its citizens.

Instead requesting all the above authorities and each of the Bhartiya citizens to utilise such fruit peels, fruit seeds, uncooked vegetables (stems and other form of edible waste - which, for most of the times is thrown as garbage), leaves, stems and any other form of organic and green parts of the trees to be fed to the nearby saplings and trees. To ensure that the water starved trees and saplings (since most of the rain water is used for wheat/rice/sugarcanes/cotton crops) gets some kind of nutrition to prosper and provide all of us maximum amount of oxygen and pure air to inhale.

We may wish to give our children lots of things and properties. But what may happen in the year 2040, if they are gasping for air and oxygen to breathe and struggling /fighting for drinking water ?

Think. Act. Execute.....
