As of 8/3/2020, COVID-19 has started worsening significantly with new cases hitting  double digits and new clusters forming, after consecutive days of staying in the 1s and 2s. Schools being a location of mass gathering provide a habitat for large scale transmission of the virus, despite temperature taking and other precautionary measures taken, as the virus can still spread from asymptomatic(not showing symptoms) people. Moreover, young children are especially prone to the virus.

Singapore is capable of continuing and making HBL( Home Based Learning) and E learning full-fledged, which had been followed in many Junior Colleges and secondary schools, until the situation gets more stabilized.

A possible consequence is that key personnel     (Doctors,Nurses etc) might choose to stay at home to look after their children. The solution I present is to implement special measures at schools to look after them and students whose parents who have no choice but  to work. This will well decrease chances of widespread transmission while not damaging healthcare efforts.

Students and Parents, please sign this petition to bring attention to this issue.
