Emailing the Minister

Thank you for your signature and support for the petition “Renew Academic Year 2020”.

I have emailed Anurag Behar, a notable name in online education. He suggests that we email the Minister of Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal. The more the emails, the more consideration is given towards our cause.

The following is the draft of your email. Fill in your name and any comments if you’d like.

Respected Sir,

This is an email requesting that the the Ministry of Education start over the academic year or continue from where we have left off in 2021; as the current online classes we have are of hardly any use.

They are rigorous, ineffective and have an adverse effect on our mental and physical health. Many students are either falling into depression, lacking the motivation to study, and aren’t performing to their full potential. Moreover, many students of the rural population are unfairly missing even basic access to these classes.

Personally, attending these classes....(add personal issues/grievances/comments if you prefer to, it’s up to you)

Skipping semesters, automatic promotion and reduction of syllabi are temporary solutions that don’t address the problem, and moreover won’t help us later on. And considering the rising amount of COVID cases everyday, it will be life-threatening to us and our families to reopen schools and colleges this year even if careful norms are followed.

The link to the petition is as follows:

We have garnered over 5000 signatures in less than a week.

I along with the other students of this petition plead you to take our dilemma into account, start over or continue the year in 2021 and cancel the current online classes across all grades. We are putting our careers and our lives into your hands.

Thanking you,

(your full name)

The draft ends here. The email address of our Minister is as follows:

It’s time to take the final step.
