Hindi in Fijian schools

Hindi in Fijian schools
Why this petition matters

This is an appeal to the people of Fiji to come together in solidarity for the ongoing language debate on social media and print media. We like to initiate a drive to collect digital signatures from those who believe that Hindi should continue to be taught in schools of Fiji. It should be up to an individual to use a dialect as per one’s convenience. However, when coming for learning, colloquial Hindi should not be part of the curricula of primary, secondary or tertiary education. This seriousness of implementing colloquial Hindi may cause damage to the society in a longer run. In a similar way, colloquial English can be conversed by people at large, but should not become part of curricula. We collectively believe that it is an obligation of the current generation to preserve the language in its correct form by the educational system. We urge the government to take necessary steps in this regard.
The Fijian Prime Minister stated that Fiji Hindi will not be forced in Sanatan and TISI Sangam schools, does this mean it will be forced in other schools?
