Education is Key: Prevent Further Broad Based School Closures
I’ve heard more and more disturbing talk about the very high likelihood of schools being shut down again. I believe this is criminal. Please do not give the excuse of rising case numbers.
First off, Ontario has had amongst the highest rates of school closures in the world at 20 weeks. There is limited data on the spread of COVID-19 through children under 18 years of age. This arbitrary decision to prolong shut downs without solid evidence was highly unacceptable considering the ramifications on our children, who are our future.
Second, the emotional, psychological, physical, social, developmental, and educational impact has been devastating and we can only hope we can somehow help our children recover.
Thirdly, it is well known that education is the cornerstone of a flourishing society and to not protect it is utterly irresponsible.
Virtual school is inadequate at best.
I implore you to sign this petition to mandate live schools and stop prolonged school closures.
Protect our children and future with mandated live education at school.
Protect children, parents, families, and the economy with prioritized live education in schools. Thank You!
