When School re-opens, parents like you and me, are concerned about how we keep our children safe and healthy.

In addition to wearing masks and social distancing during schools,  we need to do away with shoes, socks and ties. These can get contaminated easily and can accelerate spread of virus.

Several studies claim that corona virus can live on your shoes for a maximum of five days. Since most shoes are made of leather, rubber and plastic, they can become another carrier of the virus. Shoes and ties, which may not be washed every day, can be a good breeding ground for bacteria and viruses. Virus and bacteria can breed on the sole of the shoes and ties and might get carried to our homes. Children need to or tend to touch shoes, socks or ties during the course of the day and with the same hand they may touch their face.

With a hot climate in India, most of us sweat through out the day and wearing these accessories make virus breed easily and facilitates travel from one child to another. or to enter homes.

Hence requesting schools boards such as CBSE and Ministry of Education in India and School administration  to review and do away with wearing shoes, socks and ties for children till we have safe and corona-free world.
