Small step to solve the recruitment crisis within the Royal Navy

The Royal Navy discriminate against people with visable tattoos. If they were to change this archaic law it could solve the recruitment crisis of the Royal Navy. The army allow people to join with tattoos so why don’t the navy?
Tattoos are synonymous with sailors of the past and this tradition should be acknowledged and embraced by future sailors. Tattoos are now a part of world culture and there are so many capable and motivated people that want to be part of this British establishment and who have been refused entry to the Royal Navy simply because of their tattoos. In this day and age, this is discrimination.
In the New Zealand Royal Navy, maori warriors are allowed to join with full facial tattoos as this is a part of their culture. The Royal Navy are missing out on so many talented people of all ages because of this out dated law. This needs to be changed!
