Save The Battle of Britain Club - Uxbridge

We have been advised that there is great possibility that The Battle of Britain Club - Uxbridge is likely to close permanently on 9th July 2018. The RAFA Headquarters have come to the conclusion that this historic club is no longer viable due to debts, and the dilapidated condition of the building, despite the hard work and efforts of the current committee, management and current members.

The debts are historic have been allowed to build up by RAFA Headquarters, however over the last 5 years these have been managed, and gradually reduced.

We would like appeal this decision to close, and despite numerous attempts to communicate, we are now resorting to a petition to help us save this fantastic club.

The club has been serving the community since 1952  for events including, but not exclusive to, Blind Bowlers Society, Uxbridge Gaming Club, Burma Star Association, RAF Regiment, Retired Police Officers Reunions, St Andrews Park Estate residents, Beaufort Green Estate residents, Polling Station for Elections, Sports Teams, Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes and many other diverse community groups. As well as serving the community for birthday parties, Weddings and other celebratory events.

The club has over 500 members, and boasts 2 Snooker tables, pool table, dart boards, two function rooms, committee room, and a large function hall, as well as offering food, catering - and the best roast dinners in town!

This petition is against the pending closure of this iconic, historic and community based club.

We hope you will sign this petition to support our views on the closure, and help keep The Battle of Britain Club - Uxbridge open for many more years to come.
