Start Pension for the Mother of Martyred Navy Officer
The mother Promila Singh a divorcee without any alimony dependent on his only son Cdr Nishant Singh who went down into the Arabian Sea with Mig 29 and lost his life on 26 th Nov 2020 is still waiting for justice from Indian Navy that a regular and equitable pension be given to her for sustenance of remaining life with honour as her 35 yrs old only son wanted. She did her duty in bringing up to handover her only son to the Indian Navy for the service of Nation now It is the time that Indian Navy should take care of her well being and pride for her remaining life as she is left all alone to continue her journey till she rejoins her son in the heaven. Even she is deprived of ECHS facility at this stage of her life when she is 66 yrs old. For these reasons families hesitate to send their sons to the armed forces. It happens for a day or two a huge crowd along with senior defence personnel and politicians pour in and sympathize with the next of kin but as time flies by episode also becomes like a smoke screen and the dependants struggle for sustenance of life starts indefinitely. It is high time now that laws should be same among all the defence services and in favour for dependants who have lost their sons while carrying out their duties for the safety of nation and its citizens.
