Increase amount for succession certificate to claim shares transferred to Investors Protec
At present succession certificate is required for claiming the shares transferred to Investors Protection Education Fund if the market value of shares is more than Rs 200,000.
This amount may be increased to Rs 500,000 as the number of shares required to be transmitted is 20 and the market value of this has gone up from Rs 120,000 to Rs 232000 within a year due to upward movement of Sensex. For marginal amount increase of Rs 32000 expenditure of Rs 26000 to Rs 30000 has to be incurred apart from time taken for transmission of these 20 shares maybe one year for application to court, advertisement, orders from court.
Also a communication from the Company may be addressed from 3 Rd to sixth year to take steps to avoid transfer of such shares to IEPF to avoid the steps to retrieve the shares and dividend and bonus shares being transferred to IEPF.
The increase in monetary limit to Rs 500000 for succession certificate decreases the work of court, advocates and harrowing experience of investors to undergo this procedure.
Govt of India and Ministry of Corporate Affairs may take necessary steps to implement and consider this request to redress the grievance of small investors and kin of deceased of such investors.
