Honorable Immigration Ministers,
Respected officials at Immigration departments,
(Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Europe etc)

Subject: Banning Religious/ priest Visa for "Sikh preachers" speaking against the holy Sikh Scriptures.

We wish to bring to your attention the issue about Sikh preachers coming overseas on religion visas. Many of the "preachers" are making derogatory discourses amounting to slander and libel against centuries old Sikh scriptures, Sikh holy places, Sikh traditions, highly respected Sikh Saints and the holy books of the Sikh faith. There is a big number of such "preachers" coming to different countries primarily from India and creating a big problem for the Sikhs globally. This has resulted into an un-necessary unrest in our communities.

We highly resent this and consider such "preachers" to be working against the Sikh scriptures and traditions and hence against the Sikh religion.

Sikhs feel that these preachers are misusing the preacher visa given to them for preaching of the Sikh religion. We request the governments to stop issuing preacher visas to such persons.

The following scriptures and traditions are undisputable and uncontroversial. Those who speak against these scriptures etc are identifiably speaking against the Sikh religion. We request you to include questions about the following scriptures at the preacher visa interview and make sure these persons do not speak against the following Sikh scriptures and traditions. In case they do, they are doing damage to the Sikh community and it's scriptures. In that case, they should be denied a preacher visa (for the Sikh religion).

1) Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji

2) Sri Dasam Granth Sahib.

3) Scriptures of Bhai Sahib Bhai Gurdas ji

4) Holy hymns of Bhai Sahib Bhai Nandlal ji.

5) Suraj Parkash Granth

6) Sikh Holy Sarovars (sacred nectar ponds around many Sikh shrines)

7) Sikh Holy men/ saints especially from the olden times.

We request the immigration departments of various countries to look into this matter and help stop the malice being spread against the Sikh scriptures and traditions and thereby preventing the hurt being caused to the Sikh religion at large by these "preachers".

Thank you.
