With the increasing number of vehicles and reducing number of Trees in the city of Mumbai, it is inevitable to think out of the box and utilize the space at hand to balance the eco system.

With the new Yard coming up in Aarey colony and thousands of trees being slaughtered, we need to somehow build an eco system which can balance the need for the infrastructure and reduction in pollution.

I therefore suggest the below.

  • All the pillars of Metro Rail and Flyovers to be used for making vertical gardens.
  • During rains, all the excess water gathered on highways can be filtered and given to these plants. This will reduce the water logging problem also to an extent on highways.
  • Used of recycled Plastic bottles could also be used to make these gardens so that there is no extra cost of placing the pots.

This will not only make the city beautiful, but also will help in reduction of pollution and carbon levels in air.

Request you to please look into this and take necessary and feasible steps to make each Mumbaikar's life easier, healthier and more cheerful.
