We the undersigned request that the Queensland State Government's Minister of Environment and Science the Honourable Leeanne Enoch, give The Gayundah Preservation Society Inc. permission to proceed with the preservation work urgently required to be done, to save the remains of HMQS Gayundah, which has been beached on the Woody Point foreshore for the last 60 years. This historic naval vessel as the flagship of the Queensland Colonial Navy from 1885 and was instrumental in saving Queensland from invasion. She subsequently performed as an Australian warship in World War 1. Thus the vessel in featuring as an important part in this country's maritime history should be preserved for the benefit of current and future generations of Australians. #SavetheGayundah
