This petition is for anyone with an existing pending Spousal Sponsorship application that was submitted and received in 2020 or earlier. We want to bring attention to the fact that many of us have been approved for Permanent Residence, but are held up at the administration/processing stage. We cannot overstate how difficult this is to live with. We want to bring attention to the newly appointed Minister of Immigration the issues that have bottlenecked in the last year, and unfortunately now seem to be causing some major delays for numerous individuals, not to mention the issues surrounding Covid restrictions for visiting family while we wait. These delays are exceeding the suggested 12 month waiting period, and IRCC needs to address this issue.

It is our hope that by gathering enough signatures we will be able to show the Government of Canada just how many applications are truly delayed while 2021 applications continue to be accepted and approved.

We are at the stage of being told our application has been approved but we are waiting weeks now for our Passport Request and Permanent Resident card.
