Point Fortin Mayor, Clyde Paul was in total agreement with Port of Spain Mayor, Raymond Tim Kee when he went on a rant of blaming and shaming victims of abuse, in light of the discovery of Japanese national Asami Nagakiya, whose body was found under a tree on 10th February 2016 after Carnival celebrations in the City of Port of Spain. We are asking for him to follow suit, like his comrade Tim Kee, and resign his post as Mayor and Alderman with immediate effect.

He was quoted as saying:
What action must Tim Kee resign for. I hope when the truth of the young ladys murder unfolds some people could handle it.

While there would be no speculation into exactly the meaning of what Mayor Paul intended to mean, this type of mindset has no place in any public office, and we would rather have someone compassionate and better informed on all levels of gender-based situations.
