Why this petition matters

Started by Chloe summer Mills

Hello all,

I am a student at Bedford College, England. I personally study photography and due to COVID-19 I have been forced to go into isolation, unable to leave my house to go out and do Photos Shoot aswell as not being able to use the college resources; computers, the printer and most important the cameras and studio. My peers and I are currently doing our FMP (final major project) and this has almost become impossible to get the best grade we can possibly get. All the students that have contacted me include other art students and a dance student who is “ supposed to be writing and analyzation on my final dance performance. The coursework is due in April and I can’t do the dance until June”

I believe the school board has not considered the effects on our grades as coursework students due to isolation and COVID-19. I believe this classes as discrimination against people that decide to go to college rather then people that decide to go to 6th form. As we all know 6th form exams and GCSEs have been cancelled, but coursework is still going ahead as normal and due dates have not been pushback. I understand that’s the government Hasn’t cancelled or push back our coursework due dates because they believe it can be done at home and they do not want to Postpone our education. But as a student I believe it is vital to get our coursework due dates pushback or cancelled, due to the lack of resources, money implications and not being able to go back outside.

thank you for reading my petition. I hope we are all keeping safe and please sympathise with those who are struggling with their education.
