I have visited this visitor centre many times both in a professional and recreational capacity and consider it has considerable architectural merit

The insanitary defects can be remedied without significant compromise to the aesthetic, and its architectural, bi-cultural and site context, its historic relevance and rich sense of place. Demolition is too easy a choice if we choose to only value our key buildings based on lifecycle costs!

As part of the experience for the Waikaremoana Great walk this is a significant building.

This is disgraceful. Another example of our heritage buildings and places being taken away. Shame on DOC . You are demolishing our sense of place. Come on Heritage New Zealand. A Category One Historic Place and you are silent. At least you both cannot demolish the photos and slides we have of this special place. Shall share these with as many as possible so that they will see what a beautiful place Aniwaniwa is in with absolute cultural and historic value. Cannot believe that you would demolish this saying too much to do up yet you will spend untold on a hut I Antarctic and seek to keep an old prison right next to a heritage school in Auckland.

The visitor centre is a significant part of New Zealand’s modern architectural legacy, listed by Heritage New Zealand as a Category One Historic Place, and is a place of outstanding cultural value to New Zealand.

I have a little pit bull princess and I won't hear a bad word said about her breed. Once again your punishing the dogs and also the caring owners. Target the lowlifes instead not the responsible owners
