The Bowmanville Zoo is truly  a horrific place. Animals are "rescued" only to be ‘pimped’ out to do tricks, attend parties and entertain the public – all for the profit of the owner, Michael Hackenberger.

 
The recent Breakfast Television clip finally shows the true face of Hackenberger – verbally abusing a baboon after he fell off a pony - which is more like a circus act than an act that an accredited zoo would engage in. This illustrates the poor quality of care and the atmosphere of abuse that surround the zoo, and makes one truly wonder what happens behind closed doors when this type of behavior happens on live television.

Sign this petition asking Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services,Yasir Naqvi and the Mayor of Bowmanville,Adrian Foster   to close down the Bowmanville Zoo and send the most of the animals resident there to appropriate sanctuaries.  If a few of the animals cannot be transferred -- demand that a wildlife rehabilitation centre (under a new administration) be created.
