Dance is not only a physical activity but provides the students with mental and spiritual enrichment and growth.

For majority of Dance teachers, this is their ONLY income, and while many have tried to continue teaching via digital platforms this is not the ideal situation as the following problems present:

-        Many dancers do not have access to Laptops, PCs, cell phones and Wifi, in order to access the classes, especially the dancers in the more disadvantaged areas and those in Outreach programmes.

-        Many dancers are unable to afford the cost of data to be part of these classes

-        Many parents are unable or unwilling to pay for the online classes

-        There are other International dancers and dance associations offering Free classes which again takes income from our local teachers.

The monthly expenses for the teachers, in most cases, has not diminished and they are still needing to pay with little to no income. Our teachers are now in danger of losing their properties, homes etc as they are unable to survive without resuming classes, even on a small scale.

We hereby make a plea to allow one on one, or small dance classes to be resumed as soon as possible.

We do understand that changes will need to be made and that Teachers would have to following strict protocol and procedures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

We have devised a Standard Operating Procedure Manual for our dance studios which we have attached to this email, together with the required questionnaire.

Many of our teachers are not able to continue as they have little to no income coming in and in addition the Students are showing a decline in mental and physical endurance whilst learning via zoom classes.

We ask that you give our proposal consideration and allow our teachers to start making a living.

Please feel free to contact us should you require any further information.
