Our Health: Ask VicForests for permits and air quality detectors for burnings

In regard to the planned burnings happened in April in country Vicoria, we would love to request VicForests to apply for a permit and advertise it and also measure the emissions and make them available to the public.

I feel there is confusion that industrial logging burns and fuel reduction burns are called planned burns and that because of the signage about the "planned burns are for your safety" that the community is confused and do not realise that they are often suffering industrial pollution in the name of safety.

The heart of the issue is why is VicForests allowed to conduct such massive logging burns and produce so much pollution without a permit to do so?

 Therefore we the citizens request:

1. Transparency to the public about logging burns

2. An epa permit for the burns and subsequent pollution

3. Air quality monitoring in towns being affected by the logging burns, eg Healesville, Yarra Valley, eastern suburbs, etc...

4. Review of health records and correlation of respiratory presentations in hospital to when industrial smoke is impacting towns

Please sign the petition to get more clarification and transparancy from the governmental authorities which are responsible to protect our environment.

 Thank you.
