THE CITY OF WANNEROO IS ASKING THE WA STATE GOVERNMENT TO RESERVE AND ACQUIRE 155 HECTARES OF LAND IN THE WANNEROO COASTAL SUBURBS AREA (WCS) FOR ACTIVE REGIONAL OPEN SPACE.

Due to the rapid expansion in the northern corridor of Perth, the need for more active sporting grounds is becoming increasingly important to accommodate a range of sports and to ensure local residents have open space to be active and engage in the community.

Currently, sporting clubs are having trouble getting grounds to call home and many local residents have to travel large distances to participate in the sports they love at appropriate facilities. The Alkimos Regional Open Space is needed now and it is our hope that all the community from Clarkson to Two Rocks will help us send an important message to the WA State Government to bring forward the planning of this facility as soon as possible.
