Restore number of General Seats in NTSE

The HRD Minister,
Govt. Of India
New Delhi.

Dear Sir,
NTSE is one of the most presitigious exams for students of class X and lakhs of students across India appear every year hoping for an early recongnition of their talents. This year too kids appeared in the stage I examination and as NTSE Stage1 results and Cutoffs are being announced by each State Education Department of the country kids are in for a rude shock.
Seat Allocation Matrix applicable for the current year was revised and declared in 2017-18. This allocation will be valid till 2019-20 and subsequently will be revised again for next 3 years. But all of a sudden in 2019 27% OBC quota has been applied which reduced the seats available for meritorious General students from 77.5% to 50.5% across all states. This sudden impact has DEMOTIVATED a huge number of Talented students who have put day and night in this crucial year of board exam.
This feeling of being sidelined for no fault of theirs is not good to nurture talent especially at a young age of 15 yrs. We urge you to relook at the reduction of seats for general students. We are all for giving opportunities to deprived classes but do not take away opportunities from deserving kids. Instead increase the total seats so that there is no impact on General students.
It still is not too late and if you can act fast justice will be served to this talented lot. Please have a revised list published and allow more general students to appear for Stage2 of NTSE to be held on May 12th 2019.

Hopeful of your fast intervention.
