Currently the lockdown on Melbournians restrict access to Port Philip Bay to only those who live within 5km of the bay.

With restrictions expected to be changed to a 10km radius when we reach 70% first dose vaccination, this will not allow all Melbournians access to the bay for recreational fishing.

This campaign/petition is to request that fishing be a permitted activity outside of the 10km limit when changes are implemented. 

Conditions should be simple to minimise risk, only a single household can fish together, and masks must be worn when using any shared facilities. 

This will greatly help the mental health of many Melbournians and that benefit should outweigh any minute risk given the fact we already have covid spreading across Melbourne in other high risk locations.
