Please support my quest to have the existing IVO online reporting system changed to protect the individuals that are being falsely accused of incidents that did not occur the way explained or in some cases did not occur at all.

The online IVO reporting system that is in place is being used inappropriately by some, making delays with court hearings for the people who actually need help and support urgently.  We need to be able to make changes for the people who are using the online IVO as a way to control and manipulate people for their direct gain whether that be emotional or financial. 

The system as it stands is - "Guilty until proven Innocent"

Online IVO's can be placed - No evidence required? 

What needs to happen:

Immediate changes to the online reporting system.  A court should not have the right to sign off hear-say written reports that are not acute to the events of what may have occurred. The system needs to be controlled and better measures put into place.

The online reports may need to be overseen by independent government mediator specialists that are trained to deal with IVO's.   A statement could be taken from the person that Victoria Police serve with the IVO, but the police officer would have to have NO connection to any of the parties involved. Their statement should then be reviewed against the accusations, and then the court could decide if further action is required.

All allegations about another should be investigated before further action is implemented, especially if there is no prior reports or history.

The declaration that the online user signs is never questioned or checked.  This is not a deterrent for people that are used to flouting the system.  The person being accused has to go through leaps and bounds just to get their side heard, and it usually results in people giving up or losing their life savings.  These victims need help to have their voices heard.

I am unable to list the details in regards to to my families individual case at this stage as lawyers are involved.

In brief my family member had an ONLINE interim IVO placed against them, the details recorded were not accurate. They are fighting for their innocence, have not been able to see their child for months and have already lost $1000's.

There is no reporting agency or complaints line offered if false accusations are made against you.
