Let the children bounce! Trampoline for social housing

The dept of human services have removed a trampoline from the Carlton North Social Housing Estate, stating that its a liability to both the children of the housing and the general public. The trampoline was given to two children who live there by their grandparents and has brought much happiness to the young residents during supervised play sessions. Many children in suburban Australia have fond memories of jumping and giggling with friends on a trampoline in someones yard. Why can't the kids of the social housing estate have the same experience? Why must something else be taken from them? The ability to play and laugh should be even more accessible to the children that live here. We ask that the dept. works with us to find a suitable location for the trampoline to be used on the estate land and not to take one of lifes simple pleasures away from children who have had lives of financial and social hardship. Let them jump and giggle!
