Improve the dental health of children in the South West

Dental decay is a significant problem for children in the South West, where many young children need fillings before they are eligible for treatment with the School Dental Therapy Service.
Due to the effect of defectively-formed teeth, advanced decay, trauma and their age or anxiety, many of these children require treatment under general anaesthesia so they can be free of pain and infection.
General anaesthetic facilities are readily available in Perth, though hospitals in the South West have refused to listen to the need for local services. A local service option will reduce cost, travel and waiting periods for treatment, and help children in the South West to have the same access to care as those in the city.
As a result, children are routinely being sent to the children's hospital in Perth, and being asked to wait 30-45 days in pain to have their toothache fixed!
Help to care for these children by showing your support for a local service for children to have their dental treatment completed without needing to travel to Perth. A show of support from the local community is all that's needed!
