Cut red tape and allow ONLINE Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training in Victoria

To get a job serving alcohol in 7/8 states & territories of Australia you can get a nationally recognised, Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training certificate online. Victoria is the ONLY state in Australia that does not recognise online RSA training. Why? The Victorian government have introduced red tape that requires an in-class-role-play for the 'refusal of service'. However, interactive video technology is able to deliver effective 'refusal of service' role-plays online. Studies have shown that this method provides better learning outcomes. The Victorian government failing to recognise online RSA training means if you need to work serving alcohol in Victoria you will have to take time off work to go to class. If you are already nationally qualified or you want to work interstate you will have to duplicate your training and costs. Attending in-class training makes it difficult for interstate workers and people in regional areas to access training. Online training provides more convenient training, more personalised training assistance, reduced travel and less time off work. Please sign this petition asking the Victorian government to cut RSA training red tape and allow ONLINE RSA training in Victoria like all other states and territories of Australia.
