Horse and Pony Racing is the grassroots of the Irish racing industry. This is the rock on which our racing business is founded and we must support it. If we do not, then these volunteers will disappear and the ability of people to enjoy this outing will be gone.

I believe  it is vital that the government look at this issue and try to organise a funding stream that will back this up. It does not just open up avenues for jockeys. It also opens up opportunities for owners of horses and for stable staff to go on and make a good career.

Horse and Pony racing can no longer survive without funding. If it does not receive funding to cover insurance costs for next year it is finished. Please please do not leave this sport die and sign this petition.
