July Provision for Down Syndrome

July Provision is not currently available to children with Down Syndrome who have a mild or moderate intellectual disability. This is discrimination as other children with the same level of I.D., for example autism, are able to access the programme. Our children would benefit hugely from this programme for many reasons. (a) the Summer holidays are extremely long for our kids who crave routine and structure and are unable to participate in the majority of mainstream Summer Camps. (b) our children tend to pick up more bugs and illnesses than other children which means they are absent more than typical children, thus missing valuable learning time which could be made up during the Summer when ironically they are at their healthiest. ALL children with a disability should have access to this programme if they need to.
