Allow childcare providers to offer families gap free fees!

I’m calling on the Minister of Education Hon Dan Tehan to bring to the table the temporary removal of the requirement under Family Assistance Law that Child Care Subsidy is  calculated on the fee the parent is liable to pay and allow providers to offer families gap free fees during the COVID19 health and economic crisis.

By temporary lifting this law child care providers can offer families gap free fees should families choose or be forced to not send their child to care. This is an incentive for families to STAY HOME like our health authorities suggest but allows us to STAY OPEN for our front line workers.  It alleviates the financial burden for families and will help keep childcare centres afloat by continuing to claim Child Care Subsidy.

Immediate changes need to take place if we are to do our part to flatten the curve, keep our services running for frontliners, keep staff employed and the financial burden removed from families.

Please sign and share with EVERYONE ASAP as time is of the essence!
