Don Harwin is the NSW government minister for Sydney Water.
Sydney Water is digging up the Sydney inner-city suburb of Darlinghurst for overdue maintenance work.
Overnight work hours are horrendous ending at 5am.
Noise is excessive: like being in a dentist’s chair but without anaesthetic.
So-called acoustic matting has more holes in it than a piece of Swiss cheese.
Residents have a right to live in their chosen environment. We deserve peace, quiet and enjoyment in our own homes.
· Introduce daylight working hours only
· Reduce decibels to acceptable limits
· Provide acoustic controls to cover all equipment
· Provide compensation and/or double glazing etc, until the project finishes.
Your say matters. We need your help.
