"Our ABC"

It is time that the Federal Government did something about the Leftist bias that the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC) presents in the bulk of its news and current affairs programs that are presented on free to air television.

It is extremely clear that the ABC is biased to the Left of politics and does not present an impartial view on matters relevant to Australia.

What is most recently of great concern is the appointment of the new Chairman.

From a recent Article in the "Australian" newspaper:

"The ABC’s newly appointed chairman, Justin Milne, has dismissed accusations of bias in news coverage, saying the organisation would continue to resist political pressure over its editorial output.
Speaking to The Australian in his first interview as chairman, Mr Milne said the broadcaster was fulfilling its role as a public service by presenting a wide range of political views.

“I don’t come to the job thinking I need to fix the perceived bias in the ABC because I don’t know that there really is a bias, but I imagine scrutiny of the ABC will continue — and so it should,” he said."

Mister Milne having just been appointed, rather than saying he will review concerns regularly espoused regarding "perceived bias" at the ABC, walked straight in and said there was no such thing in his view.

A newly appointed Chairperson in public enterprise would take their time and make an informed assessment before making a comment.

So what are we getting? More of the same rhetoric.

We, signatories to this petition respectfully request that the Minister either:

1. Proceeds to cease funding of the ABC and sell it to private enterprise.

2. Immediately take action to rid us of this Leftist bias - not over years, but within months.

We want action now.
