Why this petition matters

There has been a lot of development in the area of Gawler Belt with many subdivisions being conducted.  We would like to push for more speed signs posted and a reduction of some speeds in the local area.

We had feedback from council and that email correspondence is attached below;

"Council undertook a speed limit review in the Gawler Belt area in late 2018/early 2019 as well as sought feedback from EMs and the local community.  Following this Council submitted an application to DPTI in February seeking an adjustment to the speed limits on a number of local roads in that area with a particular focus on those roads that were sealed and upgraded as part of AIP program.

In June 2019 staff followed up with DPTI regarding the status of their assessment.  It advised that it was about to review Council's supplied information and would get back to Council soon. To date Council has not received any advice but I will keep you updated once I have some information".

DPTI have had this request since February and to not have reviewed this information so far isn't acceptable.  We would like to present this petition from local residents of Gawler Belt to have this matter urgently looked at and discussed asap.  A local resident meeting can be arranged if required to gain further feedback and suggestions
