An amount of Rs. 235.06 crore has been realised as fine from 388.74 lakh A/C holders of country's largest bank SBI due to not maintaining a minimum monthly balance in the first quarter ended 30th June, 2017.
However, SBI has not revealed the categories of accounts on which the fine has been levied for non-compliance with its minimum balance requirements.
But, no doubt mainly poor, marginal sections of our society, even the service holders are mainly affected. Because maintaining a minimum balance upto 5000 rupees is not easy for those Poor.
SBI earned Rs.235.06 crore as fined from poors Indian and this huge amount will be utilised by businessman and crorepatis. It is very unfortunate.
