Rembo Tum started this petition to Kenyan Government and

Cervical cancer is caused by long-term infection with human papillomavirus (HPV). According to Ministry of Health, by the age of 50 at least 80% of women will have acquired genital HPV infection. In Kenya, Cervical causes 5250 of the new cancer cases and 3,286 cancer deaths yearly. This means 8-10 of our women are dying daily from this. It is the leading cause of cancer related deaths in Kenya and 2nd most common cancer among females.

Screening which costs (around KES 2000-6000) plays a vital role in early detection and treatment of cervical cancer. According to the World Health Organization(WHO), Over 1 million women worldwide are currently living with cervical cancer, many of whom have no access to health services for prevention, curative treatment or palliative care. We are asking the government to make cervical cancer screening free in order to eliminate the financial barrier to screening.

Minception International Hospital is a group of Kenyan Youth with a vision to eradicate Cervical Cancer. We use innovation to create awareness and encourage screening. We collaborate with hospitals to promote free screening but this is expensive. It is not sustainable long term and that is why we need your help with this petition. We are asking for your help in petitioning the government to make cervical cancer screening free in Kenya.
