Ariane Raymond started this petition to Milton School Board and

The situation that School board and community members are in is complicated. This being said, fighting to give the class of 2020 a memorable graduation is a necessity. Graduating on "Teams" is not memorable. Siting in your living room with your cap and gown on is not memorable. We ask that you be willing to put in the effort to wait and plan with us.

The direction of the governor does not explicitly state that schools in Pennsylvania can not have a in person graduation. Having a graduation at the normal time might not be possible but waiting until late summer is not. Having everyone crowd together in the gym might be impossible but social distancing outside at the stadium is not. Live streaming a graduation with only the class present is not impossible. There are other solutions to this problem and each of these was thought of by a student. We have ideas if you are willing to listen.

What we are asking is not for a normal graduation. We are asking for hope. We are asking for the prolonging of decision making to allow the COVID-19 situation to be mitigated so that our class can enjoy even small parts of a tradition we've been waiting for since we once entered kindergarten. We understand that there is a set timeline on when we have to receive diplomas, but after years of work, we deserve the chance to see one another, one last time.

Take the time to sign this petition to make it clear to the School board that we are not okay with ending our high school career on a computer.
