Protecting our Green Spaces

One of the best things about Milton Keynes is the fact we have a large number of high quality green open spaces across the borough. Green spaces maintain a pleasant and clean environment and they support our overall wellbeing.
Too often in recent years our green spaces have been put under threat by site allocations, different capacity studies and by developers.
As Conservative Councillors we have done all we can to protect our green spaces and we plan to do it again!
At the next meeting of the Full Council, Wednesday 20th September at 7.30pm (Christ the Cornerstone), we will propose a motion that asks for the voluntary registering of sites in Woolstone, Springfield, Stantonbury and West Bletchley as Village Greens.
The sites we have identified are regularly used green open spaces that residents do not want to lose. Registering them as Village Greens gives us another tool in the toolkit to fight against any proposed developments of those spaces that may arise in the future.
