Millbank Road - road adjustments needed to make road safer for school children and parents
Why this petition matters

Hi all, I am a parent and auntie to several children who attend the John Wallis academy, both primary and secondary school. I am starting a petition to take to the school and Kent highways about the layout of Millbank Road and safety risks associated with it.
The layout of the road does not work at all with the high demand of vehicles that use the road during pickups and drop offs. Nearly everyday I have seen people parking on the yellow school markings, parking on the path blocking drive ways, blocking other cars in and blocking the school gates. This is not at all aimed at pointing the finger at anyone for doing these things as I, on some occasions have had to do this due to the limited space and road layout.
I have also on a number of occasions seen coach drivers arguing with parents because they can't get onto the school grounds due to where people have parked. The safety risks of trying to turn ypur car by the gate to get out during pickups is extremely concerning when students will just walk out infront or behind your car while your trying to turn. It is also very difficult when cars are parked right by the gates making the turning circle very small.
Kent highways and the school need to do something in order to adapt the road to make it safer for the children, but also safer for road users and pedestrian!
I have emailed KCC, the Head Teacher of the school and I will also be contacting Kent highways to alert them of my concerns, however I am aware that other parents are concerned as well. I'm hoping this petition will help back me and my concerns about the safety of the road.
