”Some kids can wear tails and collars, but I can’t wear a t-shirt”

Students and parents alike are having issues with the dress code at Milford Schools (Milford DE). During the Covid years dress code was almost non existent. Now that the worst of Covid issues are past, MSD is enforcing a strict dress code again. These kids had 3 years of relaxed dress codes. We aren’t asking for no dress code…we are asking for a fair dress code. There is sexism, and prejudice in the enforcement of the current dress code. 

I’ve watched boys wear short shorts well above the thigh and have no issue, but the same day girls get “dress coded” for mid thigh shorts. Kids wear tails and ears throughout the day and aren’t considered an interruption, but  shorts 3 inches above the knee is too much in MSD’s opinion. Leggings (girls) are too much for MSD but boys can walk around in sweatpants where their butt/boxers show. 

when is enough enough!?! Time to speak up!!!!
