Bring Back Steel Madness Steel Matches!

Many shooters based in the Southern California area may be familiar with the Shooting Sports Alliance's Steel Madness match held at Raahauge's. If you are not, it was an "all-steel" match that featured 4-6 stages of varying courses of fire. The beauty of the match was that each stage was unique from match to match, and provided a challenge for new and seasoned shooters alike.

With the unfortunate loss of SSA's Match Director Ron Jung, Steel Madness came to an end. This left a void for a very unique match that isn't available anywhere else. We lost a match that was very beginner-friendly, and was a great introduction for new shooters, and seasoned static-range shooters into the area of shooting sports. This laid-back match wasn't about official rankings and organizational red tape. It was a place to have fun, practice and hone your skills, and test your mettle against plates of metal.

As long-time attendees of Steel Madness know, there was an issue with attendance, and the match was struggling. This could be attributed to several things, but the biggest complaint was the wait time in between stages. Shooters would sometimes wait for 3-4 hours in total, for 4-5 minutes of actual shoot times. If we get this match started up again, there would be some changes to the stage design up to ensure minimal stage set-up in order to cut down on wait times between shooters.

We hope to bring back the match to its former glory, but without the long wait times that turned many away from the match. We need to demonstrate to Raahauge's that there is enough interest in bringing an improved version of this match back. By signing this petition, you'll be expressing interest in attending the match on a regular basis and bringing new shooters to expand the shooting sports community.
