As some of you may know last night Steve Wilhoft of Parsons was killed at this intersection after a semi ran the stop sign and hit Steve's vehicle. My Grandmother was killed at this intersection many years ago by a driver who also ran the stop sign at this location. Steve was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Kansas. This intersection has been dangerous for years. I have be the witness of many people running the stop sign. The rumble strips at the intersection are worn and need replaced. I am also wanting to at the minimum see flashing red lights placed on the stop signs to alert traffic. Today I did speak with George Dockery with KDOT in Pittsburg and voiced my concerns. I also have made contact with Mike Floberg who is the Bureau Chief for KDOT in Topeka. This page is for people to share there concerns about the intersection as well as close calls they have had at the location. I would urge people to contact Mike in Topeka at 785-296-7431 "direct line" and voice your concerns as well. Please help by signing the petition!
